National Hurricane Center highlights 2 areas originating from Gulf

The Wednesday morning update from the National Hurricane Center now has two highlighted areas, both originating in the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center has highlighted two areas, both originating in the Gulf of Mexico, which are expected to produce disorganized showers and storms over the next several days. ORLANDO, Fla. – The Wednesday morning update from the National Hurricane Center now has two highlighted areas, both originating in the Gulf of Mexico.

The low we’ve been tracking since Tuesday has now tracked over the Florida peninsula as of Wednesday morning. This system is producing disorganized showers and storms for a big swath of Florida over the next several days. Once the low emerges into the Atlantic early Thursday, it is expected to move into marginally conducive conditions, which could help slowly develop the low.

In the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, a broad area of low pressure is forecast to form over the weekend. Conditions surrounding this area look to be primed for some slow development by early next week as the system drifts slowly west-northwestward toward the Mexico/Texas area of the Gulf. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 20% chance for tropical development in the next seven days.
