'This is scary': Florida man used AI to create child pornography images, sheriff says
Officials say at least one image was of a child under the age of five. Law enforcement in Florida has arrested Daniel Warren, a man who used artificial intelligence (AI) to create child pornography images. Warren was arrested in January after detectives received an internet crime tip about child pornography. The FBI is warning that Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) created with content manipulation technologies, to include generative artificial artificial intelligence, is illegal. At least one image was of a child under the age of five. Warren faces several charges, including possession of child pornography and voyeurism under clothing. This is the first case in Martin County where AI took a regular headshot and then turned them into child porn, which is alarming to law enforcement.

Officials said the delay was due to detectives trying to determine just how many cases were related. "It's pretty scary when you look at this stuff," Det. Brian Broughton said, adding that the images look very real. "What he does is he takes the face of a child and then he sexualizes that, removes the clothing and poses the child and engages them in certain sexual certain sexual activity and that's the images that he's making with his AI."Officials say at least one image was of a child under the age of five."This is our first case in Martin County where we have seen AI taking a regular headshot and then turning them into child porn and it's alarming to us," Chief Deputy John Budensiek said.Warren faces several charges, including possession of child pornography and voyeurism under clothing.The FBI is also warning Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) created with content manipulation technologies, to include generative artificial intelligence (AI), is illegal."Obviously, we have seen the deep fakes there's been a couple of years now we've seen the deep fakes with celebrities and politicians," Broughton said.
