The new partnership will align with the creation of a new Boeing engineering center, which is currently under construction and is expected to open in the fall of this year. The building will create high-quality jobs in Volusia County for about 400 people and their annual pay will average about $100,000. The center will be a state-of-the-art center for Boeing's Defense, Space, and security aircraft program, which will advance the future of aviation and aerospace locally, statewide and nationally. Governor Ron DeSantis also expressed his support for the partnership, stating it would only benefit the state of Florida if there are clear benefits to the state.
