OCALA, Fla. – Two people were critically injured Tuesday night when their motorcycle crashed into a Marion County government pickup truck after fleeing a traffic stop, according to the Ocala Police Department.

The wreck happened around 11:15 p.m. on N. Pine Avenue near NW 10th Street.

According to police, an officer attempted to pull over the motorcycle, which was carrying two riders, near a 7-Eleven at 917 N. Pine Ave.

The motorcyclist did not pull over, ran a red light and then crashed into a Marion County government pickup, the department said.

The two riders, whose names and ages have not been released, were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the pickup was uninjured.
