PLANT CITY, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV driven by an Orlando woman Tuesday night on Interstate 4 near Plant City, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred around 8:40 p.m., in eastbound lanes east of Branch Forbes Road, as the pedestrian — so far identified as a 56-year-old man — attempted to walk across I-4 for an unknown reason, troopers said.
According to a preliminary FHP statement, the man died at the scene.
There’s no word yet on whether the woman, 61, suffered injuries in the crash.
