Motorcyclist dies in Volusia County crash after losing control, striking trees
A motorcyclist was killed in Volusia County after losing control of his vehicle before striking two trees on Sunday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R was traveling north on the I-95 exit ramp to State Road 400, also known as Beville Road, at around 3 p.m. Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was passing traffic on the outside paved shoulder when he lost control and overcorrected to the left. The 38-year-old man, identified as a Port Orange man, was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed in Volusia County after losing control of his vehicle before striking two trees on Sunday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R was traveling north on the I-95 exit ramp to State Road 400, also known as Beville Road, around 3 p.m.
According to a crash report, witnesses reported the motorcyclist was passing traffic on the outside paved shoulder when he lost control and overcorrected to the left.
As a result, the motorcycle ran off of the road and struck two trees, troopers said.
According to the report, the motorcyclist – only identified as a 38-year-old Port Orange man – was then thrown from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said there is a roadblock at the northbound I-95 exit ramp to Beville Road.
